OUR MISSION Every church and every Christian are called to fulfill the words of Christ in the Great Commission. Matthew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen." More specifically, each local church should have a clearly defined purpose that members unite behind and a clearly defined process for achieving that purpose. At Southside, we are focused on the Great Commission in all that we do. We believe the best way to achieve the Great Commission is to make Disciples, that make Disciples. From the verse above we see the word, teach, which is defined as: Teach - (matheteõ). to make a disciple. Used to indicate the action of causing another to become a disciple The Great Commission commands us to make disciples. We believe a disciple is defined formally as: One who faithfully follows the Spirit of God, lovingly obeys the Word of God, and intentionally invests in the expansion of the Family of God by leading others to do the same. Or, more simply: One who lives like Jesus and leads others to do the same. Our purpose at Southside is to make disciple makers who change the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
